My research interests center on utilizing feminist theory to examine the role of bodies, subjectivity, intercorporeality and creativity during the social scientific process generally and in qualitative inquiry specifically. My research areas of interest also include studying the psychological experiences of social class in United States schooling and higher education.
I have taught seven courses in the Doctoral Program, covering the disciplinary areas of research, foundations, leadership, and curriculum. I have also taught courses in the LES Higher Education Program, the Human Psychological Development and Counseling department, and Women's Studies.
Currently, my primary service and engagement at the University centers guiding doctoral students' dissertation projects, supporting SACs accreditation activities, and serving on the University IRB. I am also affiliated with several professional organizations, including the International Association of Qualitative Inquiry, AERA, and the American Educational Studies Association. I am a reviewer for numerous educational research journals and serve on the Editorial Board for the Melbourne, Australia based journal, Creative Approaches to Research.
My hobbies and personal interests include painting, drawing, hiking, running and yoga.
