My current research is focused on the implications of multiple manifestations of presence in the context of 3D immersive learning environments. Specifically, I am continuing my work in developing a deeper understanding of Presence Pedagogy (P2) and its application in the design of these virtual environments.

The courses I teach at ASU are generally focused on the instructional role of the school media coordinator and the application of information and instructional technologies in both school and public libraries.

As the director of the library science program, I actively serve on the North Carolina Public Library Certification Commission and represent the program at all regional and statewide meetings and initiatives.

I am originally from Cincinnati, OH, am married to Amy of 13 years, have a 9 year old daughter, Caitlin, and have two pets: a 2 year old rat terrier named Chipper and an 18 year old cat named Shere-Khan. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and playing drums with a local band.
