2010-2011 No current active engagement in research project. Service in past has included textbook pre-publication reviews and school accreditation visiting teams. Courses taught include undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Foundations, History of Higher Education. Professional service has included offices in South Atlantic Philosophy of Education Society. Served as department chair 1978-1994 [Library Science & Education Foundations] until merged with Education Administration. Two primary hobbies. First is "Flag Collection". 95% of world's national flags [3' x 5'] plus reproductions of historical flags. History of origin, evolution and design. Present short programs to social studies classes when requested. Second is "Western Boot collection". Over three decades have collected different styles/designs. Total is now 80 pair. Believe it or not, there is a history here with evolution of the "cowboy Boot", designers, production, and novelty with general public. Reading and participation in seminars with a "theological focus". Other reading interests include social history, history in general, philosophy, and religion. Interest and service on boards with civic responsibilities [e.g. Planning Board].
