Higher Education

  • Jim Jackson Scholarship
    This scholarship is to assist students enrolled in Higher Education Graduate Program who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • Mary Kistler Scholarship Established in 1991 by Mr. Thomas L. Kistler in loving memory of his wife, Mary Jane Kistler, this scholarship is designed to assist students enrolled in educational leadership programs.

 Library Science

  • Eunice Query Scholarship for Library Science students
    This is a scholarship awarded to a fully accepted Library Science student (beginning or continuing) at Appalachian.
  • Sally H. Taylor Scholarship for Library Science students
    This is a scholarship awarded to a fully accepted Library Science student on the promise of outstanding ability and success in the profession of school librarianship.
  • Louise Moore Plybon Scholarship for Library Science students
    This is a scholarship awarded to a student who shows promise of outstanding ability in the profession of librarianship. 
  • Vera Bolick Melton Scholarship For Library Science students
    Awarded only to a fully accepted library science student who can show financial need verifiable by the Financial Aid Office of the university.

Students interested in Graduate Assistantships in the Department of Leadership and Educational Studies should note their interest in their online application and send an email with an attached resume to Jackie Ward (wardjc@appstate.edu).  The priority deadline for fall terms is May 1, but applicaitons are accepted until all positions are filled.  A limited number of graduate assistantships are also available for summer terms; the deadline for summer terms is April 1.
