Dr. Matthew Thomas-Reid

Matthew Thomas-Reid (he/him) is Associate professor of Educational Foundations and affiliate faculty with Gender, Women's and Sexuality Studies. Matthew is faculty advisor for GAPP (Gay and Progressive Pedagogy) and is the former editor of the South Atlantic Philosophy of Education Society Journal. Matthew sits on the Advisory Board for the Chief Diversity Officer as well as serving with the University's Early Intervention Team and the University Reseach Council.  His areas of research include philosophy of education, social justice education, and queer pedagogy.  His previous research projects focus on utilizing LGBTQIA histories and narratives with a view toward 'queering' pedagogy, praxis, and digital literacies. Currently he is working on a series of essays on "queer gifts to education."
