Graduate Assistants

Zakery Earp

Zakery Earp (Fun fact: he is distantly related to Wyatt Earp). He is from the area and obtained by Bachelor’s in Psychology here at Appstate. He is a first year Higher Education MA student on the leadership track and plans to graduate in the spring of 2021.

He has experience in research as part of his undergraduate degree. Professional interests are college access and student success, academic advising, retention and attrition, and administrative action.

Hayden Smith

Haden is getting and MPA with a concentration in Public Management and he will be graduating in December 2019. He is great at gathering information, organizing files, coding surveys and performing data analysis on quantitative studies. He is also interested in conducting research on emergency management practices, challenges and issues. 

Lindsey Buchanan

Lindsey worked on a project this summer that consisted of organizing documents, making travel packets, and copying for a class that was traveling abroad. I also have organized the hooding ceremony for two semesters. Community Mental Health Services and Substance Abuse Treatment Programs and Relapse Prevention.

Cassie McCormick

Marriage and Family Therapy- Advanced Systemic Multicultural Counseling Certificate and Addiction Counseling Certificate

Cassie has conducted research in Altruism Behaviors as an undergraduate, assisted Dr. Benson in transcribing interviews for research in the LGBTQ2S+ field, and is currently working with Dr. Ardoin in research for Higher Education. She also assisted Dr. Bryson with an annotated bibliography in Black Male Success Behaviors at HBCUs. Assists in LES with administrative duties (ie. organizing, shredding, faxing) 


Jack Maddocks

Jack has assisted in creating Google maps of student locations and verifying student data. He has also assisted Dr Luetkemeyer with spreadsheets and date gathering.
